In 2023, we launched our reverse mentoring program, which pairs more junior members of PHINIA with more senior employees for a long-term, relationship-driven experience.
The program is designed to promote collaboration, foster dialogue, and raise awareness and understanding of different perspectives across generations to deliver on our collective goals.
Creating strong engagement with our employees is a key focus for us. We promote an open feedback culture, and in 2023, hosted a variety of programs designed to help employees feel connected to each other and our culture and make a positive impact.
We strive to cultivate a culture where differences are valued, respected and embraced and provide tools and opportunities to help employees reach their full potential. We believe recognition of, and appreciation for, differences in backgrounds and experiences is an important part of creating a greater understanding of each other. Our 2023 safety performance consisted of 0.19 Total Recordable Incident Rate and 0.12 Lost Time Incident Rate, with both metrics in their respective top quartiles based on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The PHINIA CEO Safety Award recognizes our facilities that achieve key safety milestones. During Safety PHIRST, our first annual Global Safety Week in 2023, site employees practiced emergency preparedness, recognized best practices, and continued learning about new safety initiatives.
We actively encourage employee involvement in supporting communities, local activities, and charities.
Through our 2023 community engagement, we supported 121 community initiatives across 11 countries, including investments in education that we believe assist in a strong workforce for the future. We expect our future efforts to focus on supporting education, a clean world, and community service.
Our inaugural Sustainability Report highlights our initial strategies and framework, sets a benchmark for future progress across our environmental, social, and governance initiatives, and emphasizes our focus on driving long-term value for our stakeholders.
